For the first time in over a decade a comedian is hosting Miss California Latina and Miss California Teen Pageants; Latina comedian Aida Rodriguez is a fast rising Latina star in the world of Comedy. The bi-lingual PuertoRican/Dominican beauty is a refreshing voice in comedy in La La Land taking the nation by storm. Representing the point of view of single and teen-age mothers as well as the long lost group of women that suffer from destructive eating disorders. A former model and recovering anorexic Rodriguez has no problem telling her audience, “I don’t tell jokes, I tell my business…I didn't make it in modeling because I got tired of being freaking’ hungry!" Her bravery in addressing the taboo reality that many women and teenage girls face everyday makes her a grand illustration of beauty, brains, and exceptional talent.
A perfect fit to host this year’s pageant; state director Jennifer Rodriguez says, “We are excited to have Aida as part of the production this year. We feel she is an excellent example of an empowered Latina with great success in her field. I feel she will bring great entertainment value to the show with her personality and comedic skills.”
A veteran on the mic, Aida has hosted several television pilots for networks.
